Innovative solutions that ensure thermal and sound levels are maintained at acceptable levels. Though used mainly on the roofs, our insulation systems are able to cover nearly the entire building, thus maximising living comfort.
Plasticized polymer emulsion compounds can be easily applied over metal and concrete substrates to reduce noise and sound interferences. It is commonly applied with a brush, followed by spraying over to form an irregular surface, which prevents sound waves from passing through by absorbing the waves rather than allowing it to bounce around. When applied over a metal deck, the noise levels during rainfall can go as low as 45 dBA (equivalent to an air conditioning background noise at high fan speed) with over 20% of noise reduction. In addition to that, the insulation coating can also prolong the lifespan of the metal deck since it is not directly exposed to the weather, hence protecting it further from rusting.
Heat insulation to building roofs, walls and facades are important to create a conducive living environment and reduce energy cost for heating or cooling the building. The most common thermal insulation materials include PU foam, rock wool, extruded polystyrene (EPS) and expanded polystyrene (XPS). The use case of these materials vary depending on the type of substrate such as for metal deck or RC flat roofs. AXEL offers an innovatively formulated lightweight heat insulation screed that is laid over RC flat roofs with a 3-in-1 function of heat & sound insulation and protective finish screed for light foot traffic. It contains millions of tiny non-connecting air pockets yielding superior insulation properties. It is also fire resistant and non-combustible, conforming to BS 476.
